Regional designers gain international scope in Dubai

"And for the first time we have actually dared to invite international buyers because we felt we weren't ready before and we don't want to burn your designers too quickly. We felt they had to go through that learning curve before we invited the more international buyer."

"We have a lot of great talent that comes out of the region and maybe this is our opportunity to kind of show a different side to the Middle East. Kind of like an anti terrorist sort of approach, through creativity and design. To show a different side to the region and to give opportunities to the young generation that feels a bit of hopelessness in that sense, and who maybe felt the urge that they had to leave the region and go somewhere else in order to make it."

"It's because the Middle Eastern client, they love Moda, and we have not done one outreach in terms of marketing and it now represents in excess of 15 percent of our business."

"We just started reaching out to the European market and I think the feedback was good as a new brand that is getting introduced to the market. We just getting started with Italy and we were in Milan fashion week and went to Germany as well, and Moscow. So I think there is a demand, of course, yeah."

"Dee by Dalia has been doing really well in the GCC and Middle East and now we are expanding to Europe and you should be seeing us soon in Paris Fashion Week and we are very happy that everyone likes our style here. I did kind of do this collection inspired by the GCC from the stars and the moon, from the holy month of Ramadan, that happens in the UAE, especially that I am a Dubai-based designer, I grew up all my life here so I have a feeling to it."
